Laboratory of Proteostasis and Aging
Protein Homeostasis
Loss of the proteostasis (protein homeostasis) is one of the hallmarks of aging. Our research group studies the fascinating intersection of proteostasis and aging. Using the nematode Caenorhabditis elegans as model, our goal is to unravel the intricate mechanisms by which organisms maintain protein homeostasis and how this process influences the aging process and age-related diseases. Moreover, we are also interested in understanding how sensory signal transmission from the nervous system to peripheral tissues modulate organismal's proteostasis.
